Emmerdale drops huge hints that Cain didn't kill Al in eye-opening scenes
*Puts deerstalker hat on*. So, what really happened during Al Chapman’s (Michael Wildman) final moments in Emmerdale?
We’ve been left wondering this after tonight’s instalment of the ITV soap, which featured a lot of scenes that alluded to the fact Cain (Jeff Hordley) may have not murdered Al after all.
Al’s final scenes aired last night, after a showdown with his enemy.
The death aired in such a way that made it look as though Cain shot Al in the chest after fighting with him.
Afterwards, he was taken to the police station for questioning and told the detective that he didn’t kill Al, but was caught by Kerry (Laura Norton) with a shotgun in his hands because he was in the middle of putting the safety cap back on.
It left many viewers convinced Cain was just spinning a lie so he didn’t face time behind bars – but maybe he was telling the truth?
Maybe, just maybe, he told the detective the complete truth – but just hasn’t revealed or doesn’t know who really killed Al?
Tonight, as the aftermath continued, Moira (Natalie J Robb) was trying to seek more answers.
She was on the phone to Cain and directly asked if he killed Al – and he didn’t answer.
As the episode continued, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) paid a visit to her brother.
Chas was angry and grieving, her tone was vicious and fully believed Cain had ruined her chance at happiness with Al because of their feud.
Once again, we were given further hints that the ordeal is more complicated than initially thought, as Cain referenced the day where Al saved his life after a car crash – so why would he kill him if they were ‘quits’?
Cain is also aware that if Chas and Al’s affair is kept hidden for now, the lack of evidence and minor motive will probably help him get out, or face a smaller period of time behind bars.
Tonight’s episode has proved there is more to Al’s murder so we’ll leave you with three questions.
Will Cain be released?
Is he covering for someone?
If so, who really killed Al Chapman?
