Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) leaves both Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick) in shock in Emmerdale when he suggests that Esther may be better off with another family.
The teen has seemingly undergone something of a personality transplant in recent months as part of Amelia Spencer’s (Daisy Campbell) baby storyline.
His behaviour has been nothing short of appalling, and he has shown no interest in his baby daughter whatsoever since Amelia gave birth.
Determined to take action, Samson sank to a shocking new low earlier this week when he telephoned social services, claiming that baby Esther is being neglected!
The above clip, taken from Thursday’s (November 17) edition of the ITV soap, previews the aftermath of the scenes, as Sam and Lydia receive word that Amelia has been reported.
Samson claims he had nothing to do with the call, but he proceeds to capitalise on the conversion, suggesting that Esther would be better off with a ‘rich’ family.
Sam is quick to berate his son, reminding him that money doesn’t buy happiness, but Samson remains steadfast in his point of view, and tells Sam that he never listens to him.
‘All you two care about is being grandparents!’, he exclaims. ‘You couldn’t give a stuff what I want and you never have.’
Will Sam’s actions be found out?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday November 17 at 7:30pm on ITV.
