On Tuesday’s instalment of Emmerdale, viewers watched as the huge storm that’s rocked the village continues to cause havoc. During the episode, fans saw Vinny Dingle ( Bradley Johnson) and Liv Dingle (Isobel Steele) get trapped under a caravan that was thrown at them due to the extreme weather. Although people were quick to point out that despite the gale-force winds, trees in the distance remained perfectly still.
As the residents of Emmerdale have all been impacted by the storm in some way, Tuesday’s episode saw Liv and Vinny become its latest victim.
With Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) in hospital after being hurt in the commotion, her husband Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) asks if they are both able to go to the Woolpack to look after their daughter Eve.
Bracing the weather, Vinny and Liv head outside where his scarf blows off and he makes an attempt to catch it, although his new wife spots that a caravan is heading their way.
Running to her husband, the vehicle was then thrown at them as a result of the storm which resulted in the young couple being left unconscious under the caravan.
Although the dramatic scene was meant to leave viewers wondering if they’ll survive the accident, people were distracted by what was in the background of the scene.
Despite the winds being strong enough to throw a caravan at Vinny and Liv, viewers noticed the trees in the distance seemed to stand perfectly still.
It wasn’t long before people took to Twitter to point out the huge error that seemed to have been overlooked by bosses.
Steve said: “A storm so localised the trees in the background are not swaying lol”
Chris Clare commented: “This was way too far over the top. A car blew over? Trees bending but 10 yards in the distance they were perfectly still! Quite embarrassing how overdone it was. And is it just me but for the past week or so has the sound quality been shocking?”
“Well, I’m sorry #emmerdale I am pretty disappointed in the 50th-anniversary celebrations as the “storm” blows through the village blowing a caravan onto vin+liv, blowing sam onto a tractor spike and trees and leaves barely moving,” swiped Walruswaspaul.
Val tweeted: “It’s very windy in #emmerdale but the trees in the distance don’t move. Now that’s where I’d be walking!”
Steve Crumley asked: “Did anyone count all the trees not moving in the distance during the great storm???”
Twitter user Sunshine67 commented: “#emmerdale did anyone else notice the trees in the background were still, and I mean really still and yet cars were flipping lol.”
It’s unclear yet if the young couple will survive the storm that’s causing havoc across the show as it’s already claimed its first victim, Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton)
However, a source told The Sun that actress Isobel Steele, who plays Liv, will be leaving Emmerdale after six years which could suggest she’s been killed off after the caravan incident.
They claimed the 21-year-old wanted to leave the ITV soap to focus on a different career away from acting.
The source said: “She feels like she’s done all she can at Emmerdale and wants to focus on her music career and make a real go of it.
“Bosses have pulled out all the stops for the 50th anniversary month and Isobel’s exit will be no different.
“Viewers are going to be on the edge of their seats as it all plays out.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
