Emmerdale viewers rip into soap as Marcus' exit storyline kicks off | The Sun
SOAP actor Darcy Grey is on his way out of the Dales after a year.
Emmerdale viewers were fuming after last night's instalment and raged over his character's sudden change in behaviour.
Ethan Anderson (portrayed by Emile John) had big plans for his relationship with Marcus Dean, including a romantic proposal.
Sadly, these were thwarted when he discovered his other half cheating on him with a former flame on Monday's episode of the Yorkshire-based drama.
When the pair finally managed to talk about things, Marcus made matters worse by showing very minimal effort to fight for their future together.
He not only labelled his partner "boring" but also claimed their relationship had been a sinking ship for a while.

The couple's happiness was most notably challenged by Ethan's boss, Greg, who had tried to seduce Marcus behind the solicitor's back.
This culminated into a heated altercation which put Marcus and Ethan's plans of moving in together on hold.
Meanwhile, ITV viewers were shaking their heads as, weeks prior to this new storyline, Marcus was adamant that cheating was not acceptable.
Marcus even saw red following Nate Robinson's infidelity with Tracy Metcalfe and put the hunk on blast.

Many of them were left either confused or furious and swarmed over to Twitter to share their thoughts.
"Marcus 2 weeks ago: 'Cheating is the worst thing a person can do'. Marcus this week: '[shrug shoulder emoji.] Marcus 2 weeks ago: 'I love Ethan so much, I can’t lose him'. Marcus now: 'You’re boring to be honest, we should break up'", one startled viewer penned.
A second showed disapproval at Marcus" exit storyline, commenting: "I know the actor wanted to leave but…that’s poor writing."
"Another total 180° character change to explain someone leaving. Same old washing rinsed & repeated over & over & over", they complained.
"Marcus was such a wasted character! It's no wonder the actor is leaving", a third fumed.
One viewer couldn't help but agree: "Marcus had so much potential. The way he arrived in the village was really good. My favourite scene of his was when he was kind to Arthur and offered him support. Will miss him. Darcy is such a good actor."
Marcus was first introduced to viewers as Pierce Harris' long-lost son and was rumoured to be just as dangerous as the murderer and rapist.
Soap fans were eager to see what he would be up to as they were convinced he was hiding a dark secret upon his first meeting with Pierce's former wife (and victim) Rhona Goskirk.
But after a year, actor Darcy Grey decided it was time for him to move on.

A source recently spoke to The Sun about the 31-year-old's departure from the show saying the star was looking for a new challenge.
"His time in the village came to a natural end. Darcy is keen to spread his wings but the door has been left open", they added.
Last week, Marcus' trust in Ethan became faulty when he was convinced he had been cheated on.
However, Ethan's innocence was proven in later scenes as the solicitor had only gone to a surprise house viewing.
But Marcus had already been unfaithful himself by this point, believing his partner was sneaking around behind his back.
"I don't think we should – carry on, I mean", Marcus told Ethan on Tuesday.
"Yesterday proved something I've been feeling for a while. You and me – it's not exactly working out, is it? If it was, I wouldn't have been attracted to some other bloke."
Will Marcus have a change of heart before leaving?
