Emmerdales Charles makes life-changing decision after Billy betrayal
Emmerdale: Billy talks about handing himself in to the police
During Friday’s Emmerdale, Charles Anderson (played by Kevin Mathurin) was taken into the police station for questioning after Alex Moore (Liam Boyle) was knocked down in a hit-and-run. Despite protesting his innocence, the dent in the vicar’s car heavily suggested he was the culprit for the accident, and if police have enough evidence, he could be sent to prison. However, little does Charles know that it was actually Billy Fletcher (Jay Konzle) who accidentally hit Alex and left him for dead.
In upcoming scenes, the guilt starts to get to Billy and he begins to crack under the pressure.
He admits to Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) that he wants to go to the police to hand himself in.
In official spoilers released by ITV, Ethan (Emile Johns) tries to comfort his dad Charles after a long night of questioning and he’s crushed when he realises Naomi (Karene Peters) thinks he ran Alex over.
After Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) found the damaged vehicle in the barn, Billy is forced to come clean to Will who vows to help them out of this mess.
Over at the hospital, Naomi is devastated when she finally finds out the truth about Alex.
Later, Dawn is rocked to learn Billy can’t keep his secret much longer and that he wants to hand himself in.
The mum-of-two tries to convince Billy that telling the truth is the wrong decision – and fears he could go back to prison.
Meanwhile, Charles is beset with worry over the police investigation.
Hungover Naomi arrives and reveals she knows the truth about Alex, and Charles puts his worries aside to be there for his broken daughter.
Soon, Charles is escorted to a waiting police car for more questioning – only for a guilty Billy to see it all unfold.
At the police station, the vicar is exasperated when DS Raveley states the vicar could be charged with murder, on top of the hit and run.
Frustrated he lashes out in the interview room, he hangs his head knowing he’s made things worse.

Back in the village, Charles is knelt in a pew, praying for guidance when Billy enters and confesses to Alex’s accident.
How will the vicar react to Billy’s admission, and more importantly, will he take the fall for him or go to the police?
It is clear the vicar has an important decision to make as he thinks about whether to break his oath about what really happened.
During Friday’s episode, Billy shared his fears with Dawn about handing himself in to the police.
“Look, I know this is tough, but it was an accident and he’s still alive,” Dawn reassured him.
Billy replied: “He’s in a critical condition on the news.
“I don’t think I’m gonna be able to cope if he dies. What am I supposed to tell Clemmie and Lucas?”
Dawn hit back: “You don’t say anything to anyone.”
Later on, Dawn told Billy to “hold it together” as he explained: “If I go to the police then maybe…”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
