Emmerdale’s Gabby Thomas star wows fans with age admission
Rosie Bentham speaks about joining Emmerdale at 15
One of the biggest storylines on Emmerdale at the moment revolves around Gabby Thomas (played by Rosie Bentham) and soap newcomer Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope).
While Gabby has been counting down the days until she weds Nicky – following quite the whirlwind romance – Nicky has been hiding the fact that he’s gay and in love with a man called Ally (Josh Horrocks), who Gabby was led to believe was only a close friend.
But the drama doesn’t end there. Not only is Nicky in love with a man but his father, Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) is forcing him to marry Gabby to get revenge on Kim Tate (Claire King) and ultimately take her money and her home from her.
Nicky finally came clean with Gabby about his sexuality on their wedding day, in scenes that aired this week. But fans of the show may be surprised when they find out the Gabby actress’ real age.
In an interview on Lorraine, where she joined co-star Lewis, Rosie agreed that she had grown up on the show.
She revealed: “Yeah, I mean I joined Emmerdale when I was 15 and I’m 21 now.”
Since joining Emmerdale in 2018 her character has been involved in several key storylines.
From dealing with the breakdown of her parents’ marriage to underage drinking and teenage rebellion which eventually leads to a teen pregnancy, to dealing with her father’s illness and eventual death.

Lorraine Kelly remarked: “You were involved in one of the most important and really one of the storylines that really impacted on everyone was the Alzheimer’s storyline. I mean that was incredible wasn’t it?”
“It was amazing,” Rosie replied. “I got thrown straight in at the deep end with that with John Middleton and Charlotte Bellamy who play Laurel and Ashley. And just to watch that, like it was just amazing and it had such good feedback.”

Fans will have to wait and see how Gabby’s story proceeds. Will she get her own back on Nicky? Or could this be a fresh start for her? Only time will tell.
