Former Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan bags exciting new TV role – and he's worlds away from the cobbles | The Sun
FORMER Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan has bagged an exciting new TV role.
The 26-year-old actor, who recently departed the Weatherfield cobbles for good, is back in front of the camera.
He will star in ITV's brand new dark comic thriller Passenger which centres around the abduction of a young woman.
Jack will play the role of Jakub Makowski in the six-part series, which is currently filming.
Teasing the new series, ITV said: "After arriving there five years ago, Former Met Police Detective Riya Ajunwa has been searching for that ‘one big crime’, that one challenge that will make her feel alive again.
"Then one-night local girl, Katie Wells is mysteriously abducted. Her car is found abandoned and there are traces of blood on the seats. But the village barely has time to register Katie’s disappearance before she reappears the next day, safe and sound."

Speaking about his new TV gig, Jack told Metro.co.uk: "I’m going to do that really annoying thing that actors do where they tease something that they can’t really talk about! I have booked a job. I’m really, really excited for it.
"I start filming next month and I’ll be filming for the next four months on that.
"So, yeah, I’m really excited! I can’t say anything more but as soon as I can, I can’t wait to reveal what I’m doing."
Coronation Street viewers watched as Jack's character of reformed drug dealer Jacob left the street for good.
