The voice of the late narrator Caroline Aherne opened the programme as a video from the first-ever episode played out to viewers watching at home.
This was followed by clips of June and Leon Bernicoff and Mary Cook, who have all sadly passed away since appearing on Gogglebox.
Teary viewers rushed to social media after spotting their favourite stars back on their TV screens.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Hearing Caroline Aherne and seeing Leon made me cry.."
Another added: "Many wonderful gogglebox people who are no longer with us or have left. #allappreciated #Gogglebox10Years"
A third person said: "I can't believe how many of them have passed, left or I've totally forgotten about. #Gogglebox is still one of, if not the best show on TV #Gogglebox10Years"
"Caroline Aherne went far too early #Gogglebox," a fourth social media user said.
Others were happy to watch back some of the iconic moments from the last decade.
One person tweeted: "It's brilliant to see how @C4Gogglebox families have changed over the last 10 years. Keeps the show fresh, entertaining and it's definitely going to be here in 2033 for their 20th anniversary."
A second person said: "I love gogglebox so much it shall never be axed! #Gogglebox10Years #Gogglebox"
