Good Morning Britain crew forced to step in as interview thrown into chaos
GMB's Laura Tobin explains heat-health alert
Wes Streeting’s interview on the latest instalment of Good Morning Britain was halted when a crew member had to step in and fix a problem.
Hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley were debating the junior doctors’ three-day strike as thousands of medical professionals are calling for higher wages.
When Streeting was probed on how Labour would solve the crisis, a female crew member stepped into the shot.
She helped the politician sort out his earpiece and microphone as he suffered a technical blip during the interview.
As the moment unfolded live on ITV, Reid remarked: “Oh you’re having your earpiece removed.”
The shadow health secretary replied as the crew member sorted his issue out: “I’m still here.”
“The trouble we’ve got, it’s not an unwillingness from the junior doctors to talk, it’s the unwillingness of the doctors.
“The junior doctors would be sitting around the negotiating table with the government if the government were providing a table.”
Reid asked if the 35 percent rise junior doctors are calling for would be the basis for Labour’s negotiation.

“I understand they want full pay restoration and I’ve been honest with them, that if I were the health secretary today with the economy as it is and the public finances the mess the Conservatives have made, I can’t in all honestly say I’d be able to deliver 35 percent overnight,” Streeting added.
“I am asking people to trust Labour on our record. We were able under the last Labour government to keep pay up with inflation and in fact, we did deliver pay restoration because of the problems of the previous Conservative government.”
Up to 47,600 junior doctors are striking until 7am on Saturday 17 June.
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays between 6am and 9am on ITV and ITVX.
