The Strictly Come Dancing semi-final was heating up as Hamza Yassin, Helen Skelton, Fleur East, Will Mellor and Molly Rainford all took to the dance floor to try and impress the judges. However, as he performed the Charleston, Hamza suffered an unfortunate mishap as he flashed his pants at viewers at home.
Hamza and his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal were performing the fast-paced routine to Paolo Nutini’s Pencil Full of Lead.
For their attempt, they received an impressive score of 39 out of 40 points and were thrilled.
However, viewers were quick to complain about the costume department for putting Hamza in a kilt.
He was dressed in a tartan kilt and waistcoat for the routine as he paid tribute to Scotland.
But while he was kicking and lifting up his legs, the kilt lifted up showing his red pants underneath.
Taking to Twitter to complain, @Turacos_mynahs posted: “Hamza needs to learn the basics of wearing a kilt… keep your legs shut if you are seated #Strictly #experience.”
“Love Hamza’s enthusiasm on #strictly but the camera angle was unfortunate given the initial shots under the kilt. #yikes #StrictlyComeDancing2022,” tweeted @GameshowsUK.
@Chafft2402 shared: “Them there camera angles on Hamza’s kilt were a choice #Strictly.”
“Whoops! You can see Hamza’s pants! #strictly,” @QueenoftheNorth continued.
Speaking of the routine, judge Craig Revel Horwood commented: “That was full of detail. Those lifts were absolutely crazy spectacular.
“You were very brave, darling, wearing a kilt in a Charleston.”
Motsi Mabuse added: “You were so alive, present and you really had everything in control.
“You guys have lifted the levels of lifts in Strictly. Everything was on point. Guys, exceptional.”
Anton du Beke remarked: “You brought everything. That was amazing. Well done.”
The pair later went on to perform a Waltz for their second routine of the night and Hamza swapped his kilt for a tailored suit.
Hamza wasn’t the only star to suffer a wardrobe mishap as Helen ripped her dress while performing her Argentine Tango.
The Countryfile host and mum-of-three was wearing a tight-fitting blue sequin gown with a thigh-high split.
The gown was meant to be easy for her to move in but Helen caught her frock in the heel of her shoe.
Host Tess Daly remarked: “Is your dress okay? I know it got caught in your heel.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Monday on BBC One at 8.15pm.
