The Traitors is being hailed as the greatest television show ever in UK history. The show pushes contestants to the limits of paranoia as they have to find the Traitors, who are killing off people each night. However, the non-Traitors – known as Faithfuls – have little or nothing to go on as they try to save their skin.
The BBC has been keeping audiences on the edge of their seats by only dropping three episodes each week.
Despite calls to put the whole series on the BBC iPlayer as a boxset, the show continues to air weekly.
There is a total of 12 episodes in the first series which will be hitting screens over the course of a month.
The Traitors is now halfway through with just two weeks left as the competition heats up.
Why is The Traitors not on tonight?
Viewers got their first dose of The Traitors last night (December 13) but there is now a wait.
The show will next be airing tomorrow (December 15) on BBC One at 9pm and then again on Friday (December 16).
The reason The Traitors won’t be on screens this evening is due to the football with the BBC showing coverage of the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar.
Up until this week, The Traitors has been airing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with audiences gripped and awaiting the next one.
Here is a look at the next episode of The Traitors with a summary on the BBC website stating: “With the players past the halfway mark, breakfast isn’t without its usual trepidation, as the faithful nervously wait to see who the traitors murdered overnight.
“But that’s not the only news to come out of the morning, as one player drops a huge bombshell that leaves the group reeling and relationships in doubt.
“Despite the dramatic revelation, the group must head deep into the woods in order to complete another epic mission and increase the prize pot.
“But on their return, Claudia throws a huge twist into the game – an evening like no other!”
From the sounds of it, there’s another twist in store for both the contestants and viewers alike.
Last night’s episode saw whether Faithful Alex had accepted the offer from the other Traitors to join them and switch sides.
Alex had the opportunity to either accept or reject their offer and would only learn the identity of the Traitors if she agreed to become one.
The Faithfuls were left suspicious in the morning at breakfast after no one had been murdered during the night.
They quickly started to get suspicious and realised someone had been potentially recruited as the finger was quickly pointed.
But they didn’t have too long to wallow in their paranoia as host Claudia Winkleman sent them on a new challenge in the hopes of winning more cash and building on the prize fund.
The new challenge was very gruelling as they had to get into freezing water and deal with barrels, testing them both physically and mentally.
Again, there was also another banishment and much discussion about who held the poisoned chalice and who simply looked guilty.
The Traitors airs on BBC One on Thursday and Friday at 9pm this week
