This Morning’s Craig Doyle shares greeting with his dog

Holly Willoughby bid farewell to Craig Doyle during Thursday’s This Morning after he stepped in to co-host the ITV show.

Holly returned to her hosting duties on Monday after taking an extended break from the ITV show.

Josie Gibson replaced Phillip Schofield on Monday and Tuesday, while Craig co-hosted on Wednesday and Thursday.

However, at the beginning of Thursday’s instalment, Holly bid farewell to Craig.

“Hello, good morning welcome to Thursday’s This Morning,” Holly began as she said goodbye to Craig.

“So Craig, you are headed home tonight. Excited to see the kids?”

“Yeah, the kids I guess,” he replied. “I mean it’s always nice to see the kids.”

Holly asked: “I’ll put it this way then who will be the most excited to see you?”

“The dog,” Craig admitted. “It’s always the dog. We all get giddy about seeing the dog.”

Since Craig stepped in to co-host the show with Holly, fans have called for him to be a permanent fixture and to replace Phillip.

Taking to Twitter, @LynnTurley shared: “#ThisMorning Craig Doyle establishing in cement his credentials to replace Phil 100%.” (sic)

@Cheryl82185788 said: “This Morning has got to make Craig Doyle the permanent host, he is lovely, great personality and compliments Holly Willoughby on the sofa, fits in with the team like a glove. Come on This Morning make it happen.” (sic)

While @Loobylou65 added: “Craig Doyle is the best thing to have happened to #ThisMorning in a very long time.”

Luckily for viewers, Craig isn’t leaving This Morning because, after Phillip’s exit, Holly will co-host the show with several guest presenters.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
