Hollyoaks confirms chaos for teen newcomer Dillon who moves in with Misbah

Hollyoaks is set to welcome a new character next week, with actor Nathaniel Dass joining the cast of the popular soap as charismatic Dillon Ray.

Dillon, 15, makes his debut next Thursday (April 20), rocking up on the Maaliks’ doorstep after being kicked out by his mum, Misbah’s sister-in-law, for being expelled from school.

The teen makes quite the impression, arriving in the eponymous village full of energy and, after convincing Misbah (Harvey Virdi) to let him stay, he moves in with her.

A lover of life and blessed with an iconic fashion sense, Dillon comes across as effortlessly cool and confident, but under the surface he’s more sensitive than he lets on.

The teen marches to the beat of is own drum, but his fight for his identity comes across to some as attention-seeking, so viewers can expect him to end up in trouble with some of the show’s residents.

Dillon will also interact with a number of characters outside of his own family, including Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis), Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demrican) and Shing Lin Leong (Izzie Yip).

‘I’m so happy to have been welcomed into the Hollyoaks family,’ said Nathaniel, who is best known for his role as Nate in CBBC’s Almost Never. ‘Everyone here is amazing and I’ve had the best time so far, especially with my new family, the Maaliks’.

‘He’s got a lot about him so it’s going to be fun seeing what kind of trouble he gets into, who he’ll become friends with and if there’s maybe a few potential romances, you’ll have to see.’

Lucas, who was formerly played by William Hall, was recast earlier this year, with Oscar Curtis taking over the role, with a issue-led storyline in the pipeline for the character.

Dillon will make his debut on Thursday April 20 on E4 and All4, and again on Friday April 21.
