Hollyoaks Dom star John Pickard unrecognisable 11 years after quitting soap

Former Hollyoaks star John Pickard is unrecognisable 11 years on from quitting his role as Dom Reilly on the hit Channel 4 soap.

Fans were treated to a walk down memory lane as he posed alongside his brother and fellow Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard and Hollyoaks legend Will Mellor who was known as OG Hollyoaks character Jambo Bolton.

The iconic acting trio hung out together as they enjoyed catching up and posed for a photo together.

Posting the photo to his Instagram account Will – who now stars as Harvey Gaskell in Coronation Street – was excited to see his former co-stars.

He wrote: "So good to see these boys tonight! Time goes by but when you get together it means so much!!"

The picture saw John – who left his role as Dom in 2010 after five years on the soap – look drastically different to when Hollyoaks fans last saw him on screen.

Since leaving the soap John starred in Hollyoaks Later for three series and has also made appearances in shows including Grange Hill, EastEnders, 2point4 Children, The Bill, Mile High, Casualty and Birds of a Feather.

However, he has since embarked upon a career behind the camera as a producer and director and has setup his own production company, Wild Street.

John, 42, has also taken up a career in education, living in London where he teaches and Goldsmiths University when he isn't at home with his partner and their three-year-old child they welcomed in 2019.

The former soap star has also confessed his desire to work in front of the camera again one day.

He wrote on his Vimeo page: "Fortunate enough to work on the front line on some of high volume serial dramas I hope to be a part of again one day."

Fans of Hollyoaks will of course recognise John's brother Nick as Tony Hutchinson, the longest running actor on the show.

Nick joined the cast in the very first Hollyoaks episode back in 1995.

Will also first starred in Hollyoaks in 1995, more recently playing drug dealer Harvey in Coronation Street from March 2021 – December 2022.

Talking about his time on Hollyoaks Will previously told Lorraine host Christine Bleakley: "Hollyoaks started my career, so how could I not be a fan? I have a lot to thank Hollyoaks for where I am now and the shows I've done."

He then mentioned Nick as he praised the show. He said: "He's the only one still in it since we started when I was 19. There's an anniversary coming, sadly I won't be returning, but I have a lot to thank that show for. Happy anniversary, Hollyoaks, for when it comes around."

Will quit Hollyoaks in 1998 with a brief reprisal as Jambo in 2004, and went on to star in a string of big name shows including Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps as Gaz Wilkinson, DC Spike Tanner in No Offence and Broadchurch's Steve Connolly.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
