Hollyoaks’ Eric star confirms explosive Maxine showdown as he teases soap future
Hollyoaks star Angus Castle-Doughty has teased an explosive reunion for Eric Foster and Maxine Minniver.
The actor made his debut in the Channel 4 soap last year as Eric and the character has caused chaos in the village ever since.
He shot his sister-in-law Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) with a crossbow and spiked fan favourite Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) as part of a radical misogyny storyline.

Eric is currently behind bars for his crimes but Angus has confirmed that Eric will come face-to-face with Maxine again in the near future.
Speaking to Daily Star, the soap star revealed: "There's a reunion with a young Maxine which I think is as explosive as everyone should hope it would be. "
Hollyoaks spoilers have revealed that Eric will bribe James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) in order to be freed from prison after being sentenced to 15 years behind bars.
Eric promises James fast cash to help his sister Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) pay for her cancer treatment.
However, he throws a roadblock by revealing that the lawyer needs to break into his caravan currently seized by police to get the money he needs.
Discussing Eric's dodgy deal with James, Angus explained: "Eric can offer James money but in order to do so James will have to do something which puts himself in Eric's pocket, which I don't think is a very comfortable place to be.
"Eric's not a leader of a large gang and he doesn't access to the the online void he would normally manipulate but in the same sense James does feel a sense of danger for sure.
"Those people looking out for a bit of danger will see some spice that pops up over the next few months."
Whether if remains to be seen if Eric manages to make it out of jail, Angus has teased Eric's future in the village.
""I think when you hold people up with a crossbow and shoot your sister-in-law, I think the writing is on the wall," he said.
"I don't know what it will say about the message we're trying to get across if Eric is wandering around the village and going to the Love Boat.
"I think quite an important thing we've been aware of doing this storyline is that actions have consequences."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
