Hollyoaks reveals big wedding twist for James and Ste

Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) were never going to do things by the book when it came to getting hitched, with Hollyoaks spoilers confirming a twist for the popular duo.

The couple, who became engaged on Valentine’s Day when James popped the question to a stunned Ste, have been gearing up to make to their wedding one to remember, bringing the ceremony forward.

There has been conflict and distractions aplenty, however, with the grooms-to-be worried sick about Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw), not to mention the animosity between James and son Romeo (Owen Warner), plus the lawyer’s decision to represent Eric Foster (Angus Castle-Doughty).

But despite everything, the ceremony arrives next week, and it’s certainly set to be one to remember.

The night before proves problematic, however, with James having forgot to arrange a fun night for his fiancé given everything that’s been on his mind.

Awks.

Determined to put things right, the lawyer enlists the help of Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), but will she be willing to help given that she was recently sacked by Ste? That remains to be seen.

James, meanwhile, faces an evening of wine tasting over at The Loft, but despite it being right up his street, he simply doesn’t enjoy it. Juliet is on hand to offer some advice, with James subsequently joining his fiancé instead.

More issues arise when, during their joint stag do, James fails to get any questions right about Ste, leaving things somewhat tense and awkward. Will the couple manage to make down the aisle?

It’s touch and go for a while, with the morning of the ceremony proving problematic when Ste is nowhere to be found, with Lucas (Oscar Curtis) sparking Tony Hutchinson’s (Nick Packard) memory, as the pub landlord remembers where he left the groom-to-be.

Ste is finally reunited with James, with subsequent scenes seeing the pair have an open and honest chat about their worries that marriage might change them.

James, however, proves he’s willing to compromise, coming up with a plan ahead of the ceremony to prove his love for Ste.

Sienna tries to keep the wedding party occupied with a game of charades (never change, Sienna), but everyone is left in awe as the taxi pulls up, with James and Ste stepping out, having swapped outfits.

Ste is wearing a suave suit, while James has donned a rainbow-coloured tracksuit. Yes, REALLY.

The pair tie the knot at last, with pictures confirming such a thing as their loved ones cheer, watching the happy couple exit the building they got wed in.

The day in question proves to be the perfect one, with the reception subsequently taking place at The Dog, where the newlyweds enjoy their first dance together, in the very spot where James proposed months ago.

We’re not crying, we swear.

James and Juliet, meanwhile, later share a special moment on the dance floor together. Juliet, however, suffers from exhaustion and collapses, shortly after receiving big news from the doctors.
