Jacques breaks down in tears as he tells Paige she means the world to him as he quits Love Island

Jacques O'Neill will be seen breaking down in tears and telling Paige Thorne she "means the world to him" just before his Love Island departure.

In a preview released ahead of Tuesday evening's show, Jacques can be seen speaking to Paige following the arrival of former Islander Adam Collard.

As the pair sit outside on the balcony, Paige and Jacques both look on the edge of tears as Jacques says: "You mean the world to me, you know that?

"I just wish I could finish my journey off in here with you but I…"

He then trails off as he starts crying and Paige is seen wiping tears from her eyes as well.

Elsewhere in the clip, explosive scenes show the 23 year old furiously branding newcomer Adam Collard as "nothing".

Gemma Owen, who previously dated Jacques, could be heard saying: "Oh he was proper s******g you off!"

To which a furious Jacques stands up and storms off as the Islanders shout: "No, no, no!"

It then cuts to Jacques heading over to Paige as he asks: "Adam been s******g me off? Who the f**k is he, just another geezer who has been on the show. He's f**king nothing mate!"

Jacques' shock exit was announced on Tuesday afternoon. In a statement announcing his departure, a Love Island spokesperson said: "Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa. He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode. We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques."

Jacques briefly had his head turned while the girls were in Casa Amor by Cheyanne Kerr, but at the recoupling the rugby star chose to stick with Paige – much to blonde beauty Cheyanne's surprise as she was under the impression the pair had "a connection".

Cheyanne was then dumped from the villa, but insisted that she wouldn't have wanted to stay anyway.

"It’s a bittersweet feeling," she said upon her exit. "I didn’t want to remain in there after I’d felt a connection with someone and he remained in his couple."

After Cheyanne's exit, Paige and Jacques were attempting to repair their relationship, but paramedic Paige then appeared to express interest in bombshell Adam.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
