James Martin’s Saturday Morning returned to ITV for another show filled with laughter and cooking as he welcomed musician Example and chefs Paul Rankin and Romy Gill. However, the host was forced to step in to help the crew get rid of their coughs.
Example made an appearance to promote his eighth studio album and try the meals which the chefs created.
James Martin was the first to step into the kitchen to share his recipe for Sirloin Steak with Chips and Béarnaise Sauce.
Chef Paul Rankin was then joined by the host as he made bite-sized dumplings with his own Hoisin sauce.
All seemed to be going smoothly until the crew behind the scenes were struck with an unexpected cough when Romy Gill began cooking.
During the episode, Romy Gill took to the kitchen with the help of Example to share a vegetarian recipe of Tamatar te Wangun and Haakh.
Romy who was also promoting her new novel On the Himalayan Trail took viewers by surprise when he cooking made the crew step into the limelight.
As the chef highlighted her Kashmiri cooking, James noticed the crew behind the scenes were trying to discreetly cough.
After Example but into a chilli he laughed: “Glass of milk please.”
Romy remarked: “And that’s not supposed to be a hot chilli.”
To which Example added: “It’s alright it’s almost a discreet chilli, almost like a barbecue chilli.”
After Romy heard a cough she stated: “Oh everybody’s coughing now.”
As the chef continued cooking, James was talking when he was interrupted by another cough.
As a result, he was forced to intervene as he looked behind the scene as shouted: “Can we all just do it in union because you’re all coughing at different times.”
After he counted down: “One, two, three, now,” everyone behind the cameras coughed.
While Romy laughed, Example added: “Get it out the way, shut up”
To which James agreed: “Get it over and done with, we’re done now, be quiet for at least two minutes while we finish this.”
Example joked: “Show some respect,” as Romy apologised: “I’m so sorry.”
Ahead of Romy’s Moroccan dishes, James took to the garden with Paul to stop by the Coco LaBelle food truck.
The chef Elizabeth Martin created some Curry Mutton and salad inspired by her Mauritius heritage as well as her partner’s Jamaican influence.
As the episode continued James also joined Romy behind the stoves to later share his recipe of Spatchcock chicken.
