Kelly to die in Gary showdown as Millie Gibson quits Corrie?
Coronation Street star Millie Gibson has quit the show, with a sensational and ‘explosive’ storyline planned for her ending.
And it could well be a final exit, with obvious speculation that she may die amid a storyline that could see Gary Windass (Mikey North) exposed as the killer of her dad Rick.
Millie has been central to some huge plotlines for Coronation Street in her three years as Kelly.
The character was heavily involved in the hate crime storyline which saw Nina and Seb attacked and, subsequently, she found herself homeless.
She was also targeted by Abi Franklin (Sally Carman), who blamed her for Seb’s death and, more recently, she was taken hostage by men wronged by her gangster father.
The secret around Gary’s involvement in Rick’s death remains under wraps, but recent teases from Corrie seem to confirm that this won’t last for long.
A spokesperson said: ‘The clock has been ticking for Gary Windass ever since he took in the teenage daughter of the man he murdered.
‘Increasingly seeing Gary as a father figure, Kelly is further indebted to Gary when he rescues her from the clutches of dad Rick’s shady associates.
‘But having witnessed how far Gary is willing to go to keep her safe, Kelly starts to wonder if he has crossed that line before.’
Coronation Street is not commenting on Millie’s exit.
A source for The Sun said: ‘Millie’s a huge talent. She has loved her time on the soap but there’s a lot of excitement about what she’s going to do next.
‘Everyone has been sworn to secrecy over her exit storyline.
“It’s going to be explosive.
‘Millie’s not even telling people if the door has been left open for her.’
Gary and Kelly’s storyline is set to progress significantly later this autumn.
