Tom Parker Bowels: My son is ‘more interested in Spurs’ than Coronation

Matt asked: “What part are you playing? Do you have a large role in this, besides turning up?”

Tom teased: “I am in charge of the whole thing,” before explaining: “Nothing to do with me I am there to support my mother and my step-father.”

Matt continued: “I mean, that is an immense day for you and for your family,” as Tom added: “Well definitely for the King absolutely and for my mother, the Queen.”

Matt touched on Tom’s children being involved in the ceremony, where Tom revealed: “My son is a page, I don’t think he quite realises.

“I don’t know if he is watching, probably not actually, he is probably still in bed, but he doesn’t realise the magnitude of it.

“And he is more interested in Spurs getting into Europe, as am I so, Liverpool tomorrow…” he laughed.

Later in the conversation, it moved to what Tom and his son Freddie would have to wear, with Tom wearing the traditional tailcoat.

However, Matt had other ideas in mind and quipped: “Ok, do you ever feel like ‘Oh I might spice things up with maybe, like wear a thong?”

Tom was left stunned at the strange request and exclaimed: “What! Why would I wear a thong? So I’ll go in wearing a thong.

“My son might wear Spurs socks though, but we won’t see them but they will be in our head.”

During his appearance on the show, Tom also spoke about the toned-down feast that is set to take place as part of King Charles’s stripped-back monarchy.

Unlike his mother’s ceremony, King Charles’s procession is only set to go on for an hour and a half.

The King and Queen Consort’s procession sets off from the Palace at 10.20am, where they will travel in the modern Diamond Jubilee Coach.

They will enter Westminster Abbey through the Great West Door and the service begins at 11am.

By midday, the King is crowned and the archbishop of Canterbury places the St Edward’s Crown on Charles’s head. Trumpets will sound and gun salutes will be fired across the UK.

At 1pm the service will end and the newly crowned King and Queen begin their coronation procession back to Buckingham Palace in the Gold State Coach.
