Knight girls disgusted by George's actions over their mum amid EastEnders secret
EastEnders viewers are finally in on the secret of what happened to Rose Knight, and it won’t be long until daughters Gina and Anna (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) are also in the loop.
When Anna overhears a discussion between George and Elaine (Colin Salmon and Harriet Thorpe), he is forced to reveal the truth to her, but demands that Anna keep the information from her older sister.
However, Anna grapples with such a heavy burden, and decides that Gina deserves to know, attempting to reveal all.
She is left surprised when Gina reveals that she doesn’t want to know, unaware of the bombshell Anna is hiding.
Gina’s emotions towards her mum are complex, as actress Francesca Henry revealed.

‘I think she has gone through that thing that often happens with the older female sibling where she has assumed a lot of the maternal role, in making house and emotionally for her sister and for her dad.
‘Gina has a lot of pain and resentment to her mum for putting her in that position. I feel like there is an element of Gina that feels like Anna is being ungrateful to her own sacrifices.’
After some consideration, Gina decides that, actually, she is interested, but it soon becomes clear that she’s missed her chance, as Anna stands her ground and insists that it is nothing, determined to protect her sister.
‘Throughout their lives, Gina has always been the one that’s been mothering Anna and protecting her,’ actress Molly Rainford revealed, ‘but I think actually if you look deep down, Gina is the one who is slightly more scared by the whole thing, perhaps because she’s seen a bit more and because she’s a bit older when it all happened.
‘Anna will take being mothered from Gina for as long as she needs to, but actually she’s there to step up when Gina is a bit more vulnerable.’
Eventually, step-mum Elaine reveals the truth to a devastated Gina, who heads out to drink herself into oblivion.
Later, George is horrified to learn that Gina has learnt the truth about her mum.
As he attempts to console them, things go from bad to worse as he explains what happened all those years ago.
The Knight girls are left distraught by their dad’s actions, leaving Elaine feeling guilty that she told Gina in the first place.
Determined to make things right, she attempts to persuade the girls to hear their dad out, imploring them to forgive him.
Will they listen, or has George gone a step too far?
