Loose Women panel say goodbye to co-star as she leaves ITV show after 20 years
The team at Loose Women have said goodbye to one of the much-loved members of the team after 20 years.
During today’s programme, panellists Kaye Adams, Carol McGiffin, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore starred on the show.
At the end, Kaye told viewers: “Before we go, we have to say that after 20 years, this is the last day of our dear friend Donna May Clitheroe, the heart of our show.”
The cameras then panned to Ruth Langsford who was sitting beside make-up artist Donna in the audience.
“I don’t think Ruth’s going to let her go,” the panel joked as Ruth wrapped her arms around the make-up artist in a final farewell.
Donna then revealed she was taking the leap to work on her own business, called Donna May London, which she created a couple of years ago.
Ruth pointed at the stage and told her: “Well look at those four gorgeous women, you do that.”, as Kaye added: “Donna you are, and will continue to be a wonderful friend to us so thank you so much, we wish you all the best.”
Writing on Instagram, Kaye said: “Can’t believe today is Donna May London’s last day at Loose Women!! We will miss you Donna!”
The post was flooded with comments from people who have had their makeup done by Donna, including Love Island’s Amy Hart who said: “Ahh all the best Donna! Xxx”
Dame Kelly Holmes also commented: “Aww lovely photo, Donna see you in Brighton, lovely to have met you! Xx”
Another added: “Well done Donna for your 25 years on Loose Women…they will all miss you…amazing make up work…Your Donna May London business is so fantastic and love you and Kayes friendship.”
Donna previously shared how she juggles working on the ITV show and running her own business online.
Writing in the Donna’s diaries section of her website, she said: “I’m Head of makeup for ITV’s Loose Women and Lorraine – I’ve been at ITV for 21 years so three to four days a week I’m at the studios. It’s a four hour round trip on the train so I take my laptop and use this time to work on DML.
“The other days are either filled with having meetings regarding DML or working on photo shoots, product development, trips to my factories in China (one to two times a year) and various beauty exhibitions. Seriously, I never have a day off….the business is 24/7!”
