Love Island fans call out Gemma Owen as she causes villa drama with Adam
Love Island fans are calling out Gemma Owen following Jacques O'Neill's drama with Adam Collard.
Jacques made the shock decision to leave the villa on Tuesday evening's episode following an emotional discussion with Paige Thorne where he admitted he still had feelings for her.
However, in a clip from the evening before Gemma was seen pleading with her ex-boyfriend Jacques O'Neill to "sit down" after things between him and returning Islander Adam Collard get heated.
Gemma had said to Jacques about Adam: "Oh, he was proper sl**ging you off."
A shocked Jacques then demanded to know what Adam had been saying and got up as if he was going to start a fight with him.
Gemma then tried her best to calm him down as she pleaded: "Woah, no, no, no, no, no. No, Jacques, sit down."
Some viewers however accused Gemma of "stirring" up drama between the pair.
One fan wrote on Twitter: "That's the first time I've doubted Gemma – why on earth did she tell Jacques that when she knew exactly what Jacques would do?"
While another questioned: "I wonder if Gemma didn’t open her mouth, and Jacques didn’t get mad if he still would have left?"
Someone else said: "Why is no one talking about Gemma stirring the pot, how was he slagging Jax off? Jax is mad but Gemma needs to face up to her hypocrisy."
Another person simply stated: "Gemma indirectly sent Jacques home".
A teary eyed Jacques then teased his exit by telling Paige the next morning: "You mean so much to me, you know that? I just wish I could finish my journey off with you in here, but…"
Jacques' emotional exit was aired on Tuesday's episode after he decided to leave the villa to be "himself" again.
A statement released by ITV bosses read: "Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa. He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode.
"We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques."
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
