Love Island fans call out ‘lying’ Jacques as he causes Gemma and Luca drama

Love Island viewers called out Jacques O'Neill for seeming like he was trying to cause drama between established couple Gemma Owen and Luca Bish during the latest instalment.

In an action-packed episode, Luca, 23, and Gemma, 19, hit a rocky patch when Dami Hope attempted to "read" the former's mind.

He guessed the international dressage champion could have her head turned by another boy, and it would just take someone who the brunette beauty had incredible chemistry with.

After listening to the Irish contestant's reading, and Gemma admitting he "wasn't that far off", Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 27, prompted to leave the group and tell Paige Thorne and Jacques exactly what had happened.

With Ekin-Su insisting "don't say anything" while Jacques responded: "No, I’m going to have his back, mate. He’s going to be hurt, I’m telling you now. F**king hell."

Jacques, 23, then took mate Luca to the fire pit benches for a chat where he told him what had happened – with Luca left completely floored over the news.

The rugby star then added: "Have you not [heard], were you not there? Oh f**k, so you haven't heard about anything? Oh f**k, I thought you already knew!"

However, viewers were quick to call out "lying" Jacques as they pointed out that he had told Ekin-Su he was going to tell Luca and knew that the fishmonger had no clue.

Taking to Twitter, one person joked, using Davide Sanclimenti's previous comments to Ekin-Su: "Jacques “I thought you already knew” .. you are a liar. Actress. #LoveIsland."

A different account put: "Jacques saying “I thought you already knew” knowing damn well that he didn’t is so annoying #LoveIsland."

Another follower wrote: "Thought you already knew. Jacques why are you lying?? #LoveIsland."

While a different viewer added: "Why’s Jacques lying? #LoveIsland."

As predicted, the news spread in the vila and it resulted in Gemma confronting Ekin-Su as she called her a "d**khead" for "creating drama".

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and is available to stream on ITV HUB.
