Love Island fans fume as show hits technical glitch minutes into new series
Love Island fans were left 'stressed out' after a technical glitch occurred just minutes into the show.
ITV2 viewers were interrupted as they tried to tune into the first episode of winter Love Island tonight.
The show is back for its ninth series with a fresh batch of singletons looking to find love.
The winter series is being filmed in a brand new villa in Cape Town, South Africa, which has stunning views of Table Mountain, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, zip line and 400m running track.
Maya Jama has also started as the brand new host of the show, replacing Laura Whitmore who quit after last season.
But within minutes of the show starting, fans were annoyed – racing to Twitter to complain abou the glitches in the first episode.
“That glitch had me STRESSED,” one fan Tweeted.
A second said: “This glitch is gonna make me peel my TV off the wall.”
While another commented: “My type on paper' took five minutes, the first ITVX glitch took 13 minutes – great to have all the old Love Island traditions back.”
Others wrote: “Trying to get through this episode when there’s a glitch every two seconds" and: “Did Love Island just glitch for anybody else?”
The new couples revealed in tonight's show are Lana and Ron, Tanya and Shaq, Anna-May and Harris, Tanyel and Kai, and Olivia and Will.
But in a twist tonight and never before done on the show, the viewers were in charge of choosing which bombshell entered the villa on the first night.
Tom Clare, a 23-year-old semi-professional footballer, was chosen to go in and turn some heads with Maya Jama revealing that he has just 24 hours to choose a girl to recouple with – leaving one man venerable from being dumped from the island.
Bombshell Tom, who is from Barnsley, has said that he's a "good laugh, a good vibe", stating: "I’m not snakey, I don’t like that kind of stuff. If I’ve got an issue with someone I’ll speak to them."
