Love Island fans left distracted by Olivia as they spot Molly-Mae link

Love Island viewers were left distracted during Wednesday night's instalment (January 18) as they couldn't shake the similarities between new islander Olivia Hawkins and fan-favourite Molly-Mae Hague.

Molly-Mae, 23, was an original bombshell from the 2019 series of the ITV2 show, who eventually coupled up with Tommy Fury and went on to be a runner-up on the show.

Strong-willed and always speaking her mind in the villa, Molly-Mae quickly became friends with Maura Higgins and the pair have been close ever since.

Sassy brunette Olivia, 27, who was recently spotted in EastEnders, is already showing her confidence in the villa, as she revealed her attraction to TV salesman and budding boxer Haris Namani, 21, on the first day, despite being coupled up with Will Young.

When new bombshell Tom Clare arrived, ring girl Olivia, who has dated boxers in the past, was quickly taken in by the hunky new boy, and the pair flirted up a storm.

But while Olivia is quickly becoming the one to watch during this year's winter edition, fans are convinced the bold beauty is a brunette version of Molly-Mae.

Others even joked she was the "love child" of Molly-Mae and Maura, likening Olivia's cheeky personality to the Irish fan-favourite.

What's more, Olivia's job as a ring girl is another similarity to Molly-Mae – who is her boxer beau Tommy's biggest supporter. Molly-Mae even dressed up as a ring girl for Halloween.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "anyone think olivia from love island looks like a brunette molly-mae #mollymae #loveisland #LoveIslandUK."

"Is it just me or does Olivia look like a dark haired Molly-mae? #LoveIsland," another person asked.

"Am i the only one that sometimes sees Molly-Mae in Olivia ??? #loveisland," a third wondered.

While a fourth commenter wrote: "Olivia is the love child of Molly-Mae and Maura I’m certain of it #loveisland."

"Olivia is a brunette Molly-Mae. quite scary actually #LoveIsland," another viewer noted, followed by: "Any one else think Olivia looks like Molly-mae.

"Love island always look for similar people," they claimed.

Tom decided to couple up with Olivia during the second episode, leaving farm boy Will single.

While Will is single and ready to mingle in the villa, bosses have already shaken things up once more by adding in two more bombshells.

Zara and David took Tanya and Ron for dates overlooking the backdrop of the South African mountains, as Shaq and Lana were left wondering about the safety of their couplings back at the villa.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and is available to stream on the ITV Hub.
