Love Island fans switch off as they slam ‘orchestrated’ Whitney and Mehdi kiss

Love Island fans were left cringing when Medhi Edno and Whitney Adebayo kissed for the first time – and some are convinced it was all orchestrated by the show's producers.

After a rocky few days, things were finally heating up between the pair at the end of Monday night's programme (June 19).

All the Islanders agreed that there was no chemistry between Whitney and Mehdi during the Situationships challenge, but they were proved wrong at the end of the episode when they ended up snogging.

In the evening, Whitney spoke about her feelings towards Mehdi to Ella Thomas and Catherine Agbage when Medhi interrupted their conversation and told Whitney to meet him upstairs on the terrace – a popular smooching spot for couples.

Startled by the French hunk's approach, 25-year-old Whitney joined him on the terrace where some flirting went on.

As they both giggled, Whitney revealed to Medhi that she had a "crush" on him.

Medhi replied: "I have a crush too and there's something we haven't done till now…," he remarked before they enjoyed a rather passionate kiss.

But despite their relationship finally blossoming, many viewers seemed to think producers may have forced them to make the bold move.

Heading over to Twitter in their droves, fans shared their theories.

One viewer said: "I’m sure the producers made Mehdi and Whitney kiss, storyline had to make sense."

Another echoed: "The producers definitely orchestrated that Mehdi and Whitney's kiss."

A third shared: "I can’t believe they actually kissed looool producers told them to do it or they’re off the show by tomorrow morning."

And a fourth added: "Producers must’ve told them this was their last chance. Kiss or we are sending you both HOME!"

Meanwhile others appeared to be grossed out by the unexpected kiss overall, with one viewer writing: "I can’t watch this Mehdi and Whitney scene omg."

While another said: "This is so painful to watch."

But despite the negativity, some viewers were in fact routing for the pair and were happy that their relationship finally took a more serious step.

One viewer exclaimed: "I'M SCREAMING MY GIRL WHITNEY GOT A KISS I'M SO HAPPY!"
