Love Island fans work out heart rate challenge twist for Paige and Jay despite dumping
Love Island looks set for explosive scenes on Tuesday night as the raunchy heart rate challenge returns.
During the episode, Danica Taylor gets a text and the Islanders learn that they will compete against each other in a sexy challenge to try and raise each others’ heart rates the most.
Speaking about the night, Gemma Owen says: "If Luca’s heart rate isn’t raised the most by me, as much as it’s a game – I’ll be fuming."
While the Islanders' saucy outfits include Paige Thorne as a lifeguard, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu in a bridal outfit, Dami Hope as a lab technician, Jay Younger as a cowboy and Davide Sanclimenti as a mysterious masked bandit.
At the end of the challenge, the Islanders find out if they’ve raised their partner’s heart rate the most or if they have some explaining to do…
And viewers have already predicted a twist for Paige and Jay after the paramedic decided to cool off their romance on Monday despite a flirty conversation about them kissing earlier in the episode.
Taking to Twitter, Love Island fans think the challenge could expose Paige's true feelings for Jay, leaving love interest Jacques O'Neill devastated.
One person said: "Can’t wait for Paige’s heart rate to be raised most by Jay #LoveIsland" with laughing emojis.
A different account put: "I would so very much enjoy it if Paige’s heart rate is raised most by Jay #LoveIsland."
Another follower wrote: "I reckon paiges heart rate will be raised the most by Jay and Tasha’s will be by Charlie #LoveIsland."
While a different viewer added: "Watch Paige’s heart get race the most by Jay #LoveIsland."
Only recently, Paige and Jay had been exploring potential feelings for each other, which has caused drama in the villa as Paige was feeling torn between her feelings for Jacques and Jay, after the latter chose to couple up with her in the latest recoupling.
However, it seems Paige and Jay have called time on their relationship after they had a chat during the villa’s blue-themed party on Monday 27 June.
As all contestants dressed up in a blue outfit for the evening, Paige took Jay over to a sofa in the garden to make a confession, saying that she’d decided to focus on her relationship with Jacques instead.
“You said you’d rather me be direct?” Paige began, before saying that her and Jacques are “solid”.
She added: “Yeah, I think we are. We’ve had conversations it’s still Jacques and me, and I don’t want that to be a thing…”
To which Jay replied: “No, not at all, I got that impression straight away. I was actually going to say to you tonight, ‘Paige, I’m gonna back off, because I don’t want to get in the way’. You’ve got a great thing going with Jacques. So I’ll leave you guys to it.”

Relieved that the conversation had gone well, Paige said: “It’s just good to be direct and open, we're on the same page”.
To which Jay replied: “I appreciate you being honest. I made my bed and had to lie in it, I knew it was going to be difficult from the start”.
In the Beach Hut later, Paige raved about how well her admission to Jay had gone, saying: “I say I’m not a direct person but that for me was pretty direct: 'Let’s not beat around the bush, me and Jacques are good, sorry, bye!'"
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
