Love Island star says producers provoked him into starting arguments

Dumped Love Islander Martin Akinola has claimed that producers "provoked him" into starting the argument with Tanya Manhenga to cause drama for TV.

Before leaving the ITV dating show, Martin didn't hold back his opinions after Tanya dumped him for her former flame Shaq Muhammad.

She told him that there was no longer a spark between them just days after she bought him back from Casa Amor and left Shaq single.

However, arguments really started brewing after the intimate Jax Jones concert when Tanya decided it was the right time to declare her love for Shaq in front of all the other islanders.

In the romantic speech, the 22-year-old also confessed to sneakily creeping out of the bed that she was sharing with Martin to go for a cheeky kiss and cuddle with Shaq.

Martin was left clapping with all the other islanders after her speech completely baffled as to why he would mug her off in front of everyone.

He appeared on the YouTube show and podcast Reality with Will Njobvu to discuss all things Love Island and what exactly went down while he was in the gorgeous South African Villa.

Martin told Will: "I remember thinking, you just got taken for an idiot, on live TV, twice, by the same girl.

"Then production came over and they said 'are you going to have that?'

"That's when I go, 'I wanna cause some drama tonight'. I told production that I want to cause some drama and they said… 'Okay, do it, yeah let's go!'"

During the explosive ar g ument, Martin told Tanya: "When I was speaking to you, you never told me you were a liar…

"You're not sincere, you made me look like I was dumb, you're a liar."

Tanya then walked away from the conversation but at one point she was physically held back by Shaq after she heard Martin talking to the other Islanders about what had happened.

Elsewhere in the YouTube show, Martin also revealed that producers also told Martin to take Tanya into the kitchen and kiss her.

He said that the show's bosses also did the same with Maxwell and Olivia when they walked into the living room together on the first night of Casa Amor and made their moves.

Now Martin's time is up on the show he revealed that he'll be going back to work as an engineer as he loves it but he'll also be using his Instagram platform to dabble in fashion and share his looks.
