Love Island’s Gemma’s mum slams Luca’s toe-sucking habit as she makes savage swipe
Gemma Owen’s mum Louise made a comment about Luca Bish’s toe-sucking habits during her fleeting visit to the villa to see her 19 year old daughter.
Sunday night’s episode of Love Island saw former footballer Michael Owen’s wife Louise see their daughter Gemma for the first time in weeks, and the pair discussed all things Luca, 23.
Gemma’s dad wasn’t with Louise, but the 19 year old’s close pal Sarah was there – and she was quick to comment on Luca’s toe-sucking antics.
"Oh I tell you one thing that is very weird,” she began. “The sucking the toe thing in the pool.”
Appearing to echo Sarah’s sentiments, Louise waded in adding: “Is this a new thing?”
Gemma casually replied: "I'm not that bothered about it, he just likes my feet."
Luca’s unusual habit has been noted by viewers over the duaring of the series which has sparked them to share their thoughts on the “fetish” on social media.
One fan wrote: "OMG LUCA SUCKING GEMMA'S TOES MY COCKTAIL NEARLY CAME BACK UP."
In reference to Jake Cornish's obsession with toes last year, another viewer said: "Luca needs to have shame even Jake didn't suck toes on camera for a full 2 minutes."
This is far from Love Island's first controversy with feet, with viewers quick to call out the producers at the start of the 2020 series, saying they had a "foot fetish".
Meanwhile, in the first episode this year, Dami Hope was challenged to suck Amber Beckford's toes during a game which led to a reaction from viewers on Twitter.
In this instance, one person wrote: "The producer with a foot fetish sneaking the toe sucking dare in every year."
While fans were delighted to see Gemma’s mum in the Love Island villa, they were disappointed that she didn’t issue a warning to the 19 year old about Luca after she made comments about his behaviour on Instagram.
Following the Snog Marry Pie segment of the show, Tasha Ghouri was left in tears over Luca and Dami’s "nasty" comments, with the boys later apologising to the dancer.
Louise took to the comments section of a video of Tasha and Andrew Le Page on social media to respond to the scenes on screen as she wrote: "I hope Tasha is ok, I feel it’s close to bullying now which is so sad to see," followed with a heart and teary emoji.
Now, after seeing Louise reunite with Gemma, viewers shared their disappointment over the lack of "warning" she gave her daughter.
Love Island concludes tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
