MAFS fans fume over missed Home Stays ‘scene’ during Kasia and Kwame reunion

Married at First Sight UK viewers were left fuming on Tuesday 18 October evening after the second reunion episode from this year’s series failed to address one key detail in Kasia and Kwame’s relationship.

During their final ever sit down with the show’s panel of experts, Kasia Martin and Kwame Badu came face to face for the first time since deciding to abandon their marriage after failing to see eye to eye.

In a short conversation, Kwame reluctantly apologised to Kasia for how he made her feel after she branded one of the failings of their relationship to be a complete “lack of respect” particularly surrounding their Home Stays.

“I know you don’t want to hear it, but I did nothing but praise you not only as a queen, but as a business owner, as a black woman – but most importantly as a mother,” argued Kwame.

He continued: “And when I came to visit you at your home, something I repeatedly said was how proud I was of you, of what you’ve achieved. So me saying what I said, I’m sorry if I offended you, I apologise for that 100 per cent.”

However, this still wasn’t enough for Kasia, who felt the apology was half-hearted, as she responded: “I’ll say thank you, because you said some nice things, but you’re good at doing that. But sometimes those things aren’t put into practice, certain things I just can’t tolerate.”

In a move to shift the conversation, the experts then asked Kwame if there was a moment when he knew he had truly fallen for his wife, to which he replied: “Absolutely. When we went away together, the whole thing that we were working on, that was coming to fruition.”

Paul then posed the same question to Kasia: “Was there a point when you felt like you were falling for Kwame?”

To which she bluntly responded: “No. I didn’t ever fall for him at any point. I was willing to continue with the process to get to and establish where we needed to be on the outside, but obviously we didn’t get there.”

However, in a move that infuriated fans, neither Kwame nor Kasia addressed Kwame’s decision not to invite Kasia into his home, with many labelling it a missed opportunity to gain clarity and answers for a behaviour that many had dubbed a red flag.

Many fans were also appalled at how little he was called out for disrespecting Kasia in her own home, after she welcomed him into her life out in the real world.

“I just want to know what Adrian said to George and if we ever found out why Kwame chose and bench as his home stay.” Tweeted one unimpressed fan.

“Why didn't the experts ask Kwame why he didn't take Kasia to his home during the home stays?” Asked another confused fan.

A third agreed, adding: “Can't actually believe that the experts didn't lay in to Kwame for going to the park on a home visit.”

With a fourth also echoing similar sentiments as they added: “So we're never going to find out why Kwame took this poor lady to the bench?”

Although the show did not directly answer the question, Kwame himself did in a recent interview with reprezentzradio shared on Instagram.

The answer was far less insidious than many fans had initially feared, as Kwame revealed he had simply wanted to avoid exposing his home, and more importantly his children, to the cameras and general public.

"The whole context weren't shown in the episode,” he explained to host Jourdan.

He went on: “What was highlighted to her is 'look I'm more than happy to to take you to my property. We can go now, let's jump in an Uber go to my crib right now and I'll show you once the cameras are gone.

"I have two children, two girls. We live in congested London. I don't want people to know. I wanted to keep that back. When I explained privacy and secrecy what I was explaining is for against the general public."

He continued: "There's no way I'm going to go and marry you, you're my wife and I'm not going to show you my place. If it's something which is really a determining factor for you let's get in an Uber and go, I'm five minutes down the road."
