Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) has been desperate to reunite with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) in Emmerdale.

Prior to Paddy’s attempt at ending his life, he slept with Mandy after they both got drunk.

This eventually spiralled into the storyline that saw Paddy struggle with isolation, depression, and suicidal feelings.

After being saved by Marlon (Mark Charnock), Paddy is continuing his recovery process.

He’s on medication, attends counselling and has also made positive changes to his environment, sorting a divorce with Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and moving in with Liam (Jonny McPherson) and Bear (Joshua Richards).

One person who has been there for Paddy throughout this journey is Mandy. While Paddy has been viewing her kindness from a friend’s perspective, we know that Mandy has been holding out hope they’d eventually get back together.

And could that all change soon?

In this new video, Paddy and Mandy are talking on a bench after sharing a moment the night before.

Sadly, it becomes apparent that Mandy has realised now is not the time to get back with Paddy, as focusing on his mental health is far more important.

It’s clear their connection is still so strong after all these years, as Paddy feels comforted when Mandy says that she understands why he reached a crisis point, given everything he went through.
