Maya's murder exposed in Hollyoaks as Dave finds out Ethan killed her

Dave Chen-Williams (Dominic Power) was left utterly horrified in Hollyoaks to discover that Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) had killed girlfriend Maya Harkwell (Ky Discala).

Maya, as viewers will recall, was murdered in an accidental killing earlier this year, when Ethan attempted to take a gun away from her, resulting in it going off instead.

The bloodthirsty killer was on a mission to dispose of Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) at the time, shortly after discovering that Ethan had failed to do so.

Ethan was keen to get Maya to turn over a new leaf and forget her murderous ways, but she refused to do so and thus tried to kill her beau’s niece Serena (Emma Lau) in a bid to teach him a lesson.

A struggle ensued as Ethan grabbed hold of the gun, which subsequently went off, killing Maya almost instantly. Ethan was heartbroken, but he had little time to think, given that the explosion at the Salon De The took place seconds later.

Ethan subsequently buried Maya’s body with assistance from Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), who later moved the corpse.

The body, however, was later discovered, and Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) came to believe that Ethan had a role in the murder, but given there was no evidence to prove such a thing, she sidelined her investigation.

Wednesday’s (September 28) edition of the Channel 4 soap, however, proved an incredibly interesting one, as this storyline was revisited for the first time in a number of months.

The sound of the explosion within the village triggered a bad memory for Ethan, as he recalled the day of Maya’s death, and – panicking – refused to let his loved ones out of his sight.

Honour (Vera Chok) attempted to calm Ethan, as he discussed being unable to tell Dave something, which piqued his brother’s interest.

Zoe, meanwhile, rocked up at the Chen-Williams’ residence after being caught up in the blast, and in her delirious state, she filled Dave in on how she reckons Ethan murdered Maya.

The penny dropped for Dave as he stared at his brother with disdain.

The question is: just what will Dave do with this information? Will Ethan be able to convince him to keep shtum?

Or is he destined to end up behind bars?
