However, Tina stepped in for Naga and woke up the nation with the latest headlines, including the tragic death of music legend Tina Turner.

The journalist is no stranger to BBC viewers as she is the voiceover of Points of View and is also a relief presenter on the BBC News.

It's not the only presenter shake-up BBC Breakfast viewers have been faced with this week.

Sally Nugent was missing from the show on Wednesday (May 24) and was replaced by Nina Warhurst.

Elsewhere, Naga recently said she has been left "screaming in pain" by a serious health condition.

The 48-year-old presenter is suffering from adenomyosis, which she says leaves her in agony all of the time.

The condition causes the lining of the womb to bury into the muscular wall of the womb.

Speaking on her BBC Radio 5 Live show, she said: “Right now, as I sit here talking to you, I am in pain, constant, nagging pain in my uterus, around my pelvis.

Naga also revealed that her husband had called her an ambulance in the middle of the night recently when she was left in agony and said she had screamed for 45 minutes "non-stop"

The TV star was told she has the condition eight months ago – though her uterus would need to be removed and examined to get that confirmed.

She said she was doubled over in pain and vomiting when she started her period at 16 – and then had a 10-day period every three weeks, passing out and being sick each time and feeling like she had been "stabbed in the abdomen".

Naga said: “I felt weak but also angry. Every time I told a doctor about it I was told I was just unlucky.”
