Paddy reflects on suicide attempt in moving Emmerdale scenes
Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) headed to the Home Farm lake in Friday’s (April 14) edition of Emmerdale for a spot of fishing.
Paddy and Bear are proud members of the local Man Club. The group – which also includes the likes of Liam (Jonny McPherson), Nate (Jurell Carter) and Marlon (Mark Charnock) – often meet up for activities and to also talk about things on their mind.
It began after Paddy attempted to end his life. Marlon wanted to do something to help, so he gathered his mates together in the pub and encouraged them to open up, which also saw moving moments from Liam and Sam (James Hooton).
Tonight, Paddy and Bear went to the lake and started fishing.
Bear chatted away in an attempt to fill the silence. Initially, he thought it was annoying Paddy, but he told his dad that he likes hearing him talk as it distracts his mind.
This prompted Paddy to tell Bear how much he appreciates him being there through his recovery, referencing when Marlon and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) found him in the field during ‘the incident’.
Bear initially thought that Paddy was uncomfortable talking about it, but he acknowledged the benefits that come with reflecting on where he was and where he is now – and the progress that’s been made in between those two points.
Distracted by a fish catching the bait, Bear and Paddy leapt up to try and reel it in.
Unfortunately, they weren’t as good as fishing as what they initially thought so instead, they decided to head to the pub for a pint, both aware they had certainly benefited from their afternoon together.
