A head-to-head debate between the two, who are both hoping to become the country’s next Prime Minister following the stepping down of Boris Johnson, will air on Tuesday. Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss will join The Sun’s political editor Harry Cole from TalkTV, the home of Piers Morgan’s show, Uncensored, from 6pm. It was recently announced that the finalists in the race would face each other on Sky News, a debate to be hosted by Kay Burley, but the candidates pulled out at the last minute after an explosive ITV row.

Head of TV, News Broadcasting, Richard Wallace, stated: “TalkTV is proud to be showcasing The Sun’s critical all-live debate to decide the country’s next Prime Minister.

“This synergy between The Sun and TalkTV will give the UK a great opportunity to see the candidates put through their paces.”

The Sun’s Editor-in-chief, Victoria Newton, added: “This is an important chance for Sun readers to quiz the two contenders vying to be their next PM, and ask questions about the issues that matter most to them and their families.’’
