Power’s Shane Johnson teases Saxe downfall in season 3
Power Book II Ghost: Starz releases trailer for season 3
The third season of Power Book II: Ghost is officially in full swing, and Cooper Saxe (played by Shane Johnson), Davis MacLean (Method Man) and Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) are still no closer to putting Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr) behind bars. Express.co.uk recently sat down for an exclusive chat with Johnson, who hinted things could get even worse for Saxe as the hit Starz spin-off continues over the coming weeks.
Saxe’s on-and-off relationship with Jenny could prove fatally distracting in Ghost’s ongoing third season, Johnson has teased.
During the first three episodes, Saxe is still on Tariq’s case whilst walking a tightrope with his new partner Davis.
Plus, he and Jenny have come to a standstill after being friends with benefits over the previous two seasons.
Despite this, Saxe is still wearing his feelings for Jenny on his sleeve, which could complicate things once his bout with Tariq and a new deal with Davis start to heat up.
“The thing that’s crept up on Sax is Jenny Sullivan,” Johnson told Express.co.uk.
“She’s awakened something in him that he never thought was going to be part of his vernacular.
“And now he’s kind of going like, ‘Well, what is this?’”
Throughout the season so far, Saxe has propositioned Jenny several times but has been rejected at every turn.
If Johnson’s comments are to be believed, his focus on scoring another night with Jenny could intensify and distract him even further from the more pressing matters at hand.
“Even though she’s not playing that game with him so much,” he continued.
“It’s one of those things where [Saxe] has this thing for her, and I know she’s feeling it too, but she won’t admit it.
“But he still knows it’s there. And, for right now, that’s enough. Because it’s very uncomfortable for both of them.”

Their relationship with each other has remained physical so far, so fans shouldn’t expect any declarations of love any time soon, Johnson warned.
However, he went on: “Up until she came into the picture… Cooper didn’t really have any weaknesses.
“Any kryptonite, until his niece, [Riley Saxe-Merchant (Andrea Lee Christensen)] was brought in.
“So she was kind of my kryptonite for a while, it was a dangerous entanglement which, thank God, she eventually was extracted from that.”
“But, now, my kryptonite is Jenny Sullivan. So that’s something to watch for, for sure.”
For now, Saxe should be focusing all his attention on his partnership with Davis, who called on his help to free his brother from jail in episode three.
Unfortunately, Tariq and Monet Tejada (Mary J Blige) are still at large, and his feelings for Jenny are the last thing that should be on his mind once the war for New York’s streets heats up.
Power Book II: Ghost season 3 continues Fridays on Starz in the USA and Lionsgate+ via Prime Video in the UK.
