Paul Burrell has deplored the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix docu-series which was debated on the latest instalment of Piers Morgan: Uncensored. Paul, who was Princess Diana’s butler from 1988 until she died in 1997, said the couple is in “danger of destroying the Royal Family” as he shared how repelled he is by the series, named Harry & Meghan.

As host Piers Morgan reminded viewers the first three episodes of the Netflix series get released on Thursday, Paul said: “I can’t bear it!”

The 64-year-old lowered his head and shook it as Piers told him “we will all watch it, whether we want to or not”.

“You can sit back on here on Thursday night and debate it when we actually see what’s in it, but I dread to think about what they will come out with,” Piers told Paul.

Clearly upset, Paul replied: “It’s too much, they are in danger of destroying what’s good about Britain, which is our Royal Family, our King, who has not yet had his coronation, and William and Kate who are going to be our future King and Queen.”

He fumed before lowering his head again: “They can’t do this in public!”

Paul worked for the Royal Family for more than two decades and was the former footman of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

He previously claimed Diana had described him as “the only man she ever trusted”.

Piers invited Paul onto his TalkTV show to discuss Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to create a Netflix series about their lives within the institution.

Viewers took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Meghan and Harry’s docu-series, with many agreeing with Paul.

Robin Patrick penned: “Not watching it. Already cancelled Netflix.”

Leslie Grossman added: “They are not going to destroy the British Royal family, they are destroying their own credibility.”

Faisal Amjad, who watched the debate, said: “Very true. Great panel.”

Rodney fumed: “I certainly won’t watch it, I can’t stand the two [of them].”

However, Jane said of Paul: “I cannot stand the man. You broke your silence years ago and should have kept your nose out. Still appearing on TV. Go away.”

Tracey G remarked: “Paul no credibility Burrell is being wheeled out again.” (sic)

A second trailer for Harry and Meghan was released on Monday, where the prince describes the “pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution”.

Harry also says: “There’s a hierarchy of the family. You know there’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories.”

The father-of-two also adds: “I was terrified, I didn’t want history to repeat itself.”

The second trailer has been watched by seven million people in the past 24 hours.

Piers Morgan: Uncensored airs on weeknights at 8pm on TalkTV.
