Sam tears Kat away from Phil in EastEnders: 'This is it!'
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was left devastated in EastEnders, after Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) declared that their relationship is over.
The Walford hard-man, as viewers know, is currently languishing behind bars for his role in Vincent Hubbard’s (Richard Blackwood) demise, and his life is seriously on the line.
Sam (Kim Medcalf), meanwhile, has made it her mission to con Phil and Kat out of Peggy’s nightclub, in the hopes of proving that – despite what everyone thinks of her – she really is a Mitchell.
The legend took her plan to the next level during Monday’s (July 4) double-bill, explaining to Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) – who is in on the coup – that she intends to make Kat sign the bar over to ‘Jonah’, when in reality she’s signing it over to her.
Shirley was impressed, but reiterated that she wants a chunky cut when the plan is completed.
Sam wasted little time in setting her plan in motion, as she planted doubts in Kat’s brain about life as a Mitchell wife, suggesting that she should get out while she still can.
To add fuel to the fire, she subsequently paid off a heavy to deliver a ‘gift’ for Kat to Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall). It was a bullet.
Kat was appalled, believing that Phil’s dodgy dealings had put her son in danger, and therefore she paid him a visit in prison, and proceeded to end their relationship.
Phil begged her to reconsider but it was no good – Kat has made her decision.
EastEnders continues Tuesday July 5 at 7:30pm on BBC One, or stream the next episode over on BBC iPlayer right now.
