Sharon is stunned by a huge secret about Sam in EastEnders

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is left shaken to the core in EastEnders next week when Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) leaves her a voice note, which hints at a pretty big secret.

The former landlady of the Vic, who has recently put in an offer to buy half of the pub, is left conflicted about her feelings over Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) next week, and thus reveals to him how she really feels.

One thing leads to another, with the former lovers getting passionate in the bathroom at the Vic, but there’s ultimately heartbreak on the horizon as Sharon receives a voice note from Sam.

The voice note in question sees Sam hint at her and Keanu’s relationship when in Spain, which leaves Sharon devastated, as she confronts Keanu and banishes him from her life in emotional scenes.

Our hearts are broken.

Keanu, as viewers will know, was revealed to have had a brief fling with Sam when their paths crossed in Spain, a discovery which left Phil (Steve McFadden) irate when he found out the truth over the festive season.

Despite the animosity he harbours for Keanu, however, Phil ultimately decided to let his vendetta against the mechanic go, resolving to let him get to know his son Albi.

But has his passion with Sam, and his decision to not tell Sharon about it previously, ultimately sabotaged any hope he had of rekindling things with his one true love?

Perhaps not.

Subsequent scenes see Sharon unleash some home truths on the mechanic, but after a chat with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), she calls him and reveals that she still loves him.

Is happiness on the cards at last? If so, just what will Sam make of the whole thing?

One to watch: Monday February 20 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
