Sir Ian McKellen appears to ogle topless Rafa Nadal at Wimbledon with binoculars
Sir Ian McKellen appeared to ogle Rafael Nadal with a pair of binoculars as the Spaniard relaxed following a Wimbledon victory without his shirt on.
The legendary actor, best known for playing Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings franchise, was seemingly caught on camera making a very close inspection of the tennis star as he changed out of his playing shirt following his round of 16 win over Botic van de Zandschulp on Monday.
It caused viewers who tuned into the BBC's coverage to laugh on social media – with tennis legend John McEnroe joining in the fun on commentary.

One tweet read: "I can't say I blame the man" while a second laughed "I hope someone got a screen grab of the legendary and iconic Sir Ian McKellen standing up at Wimbledon using his opera glasses while Nadal changed his sweaty shirt."
A third chuckled: "Sir Ian McKellen using his binoculars to watch Rafa Nadal change his top is the match highlight. Mood."
While a fourth agreed, writing: "Ian McKellen getting out binoculars when Nadal takes his shirt off, is icon behaviour"
Ian wasn't the only one who was left sweating while at SW19 – as other viewers spotted Prince William turning the air blue during a thrilling tie on Tuesday.
Eagle-eyed royal fans spotted the Duke of Cambridge shaking his head and seemingly muttering "no, no, no, f**k it" during Cameron Norrie's quarter final against David Goffin on Tuesday.
The Queen's grandson was caught on camera looking annoyed with his head in his hands during the explicit clip, before he adjusts his tie and looks around.
William, a keen tennis fan, attended the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club with wife Kate Middleton to cheer on British star Norrie.
But despite his obvious frustration whilst cheering on Norrie, in the end he was seen celebrating as the Brit won his a five-set thriller against David Goffin to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
