Spoilers: Amelia's pregnancy confirmed in major Emmerdale twist

Amelia (Daisy Campbell) has been feeling a bit woozy for some time on Emmerdale, having dizzy spells and blurred vision.

We knew she was taking weight gain syrup that she was buying from the internet and that seemed like the obvious explanation for her symptoms. After all, she had no real way of knowing what the stuff she was taking really was, and she seemed to slurp it from the bottle without regard to proper dosing.

It turns out that the syrup isn’t what’s causing the dizzy spells after all. In a shock twist, Amelia was told in tonight’s episode that she’s pregnant.

She’d been babysitting Thomas (Bertie Brotherton) and Lucas (Noah Ryan Aspinall) at Home Farm, while clearly feeling very unwell. As she tried to carry baby Thomas to where Lucas was wanting to play, she collapsed and the baby fell to the floor.

Later in the hospital she initially tried to say that Thomas fell out of his high chair, but Lucas had seen what happened and told Kim (Claire King). Under the furious questioning of Kim and Gabby (Rosie Bentham), Amelia admitted that she dropped Thomas and told them about the syrup she’d been taking.

‘You risked his life for trying to grow a fat bum!’ was Gabby’s unsympathetic response – though of course she was more worried about Thomas. Dan (Liam Fox) was more sympathetic when Amelia told him about her body image issues and how she hates what she sees in the mirror.

Dan found it all very hard to deal with and went outside, meaning that Amelia was on her own when the nurses who’d checked her over on Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton)’s insistence wanted to talk to her. They told her that her test results had picked something up – she’s pregnant.

Amelia was left reeling by the news, and obviously the next question on our minds is – who’s the father?
