Strictly racism row explodes as Fleur East lands in the dance off for THIRD time | The Sun
STRICTLY Come Dancing has once again found itself at the centre of race row after Fleur East landed in the dance off for a third time.
The singer had a whole ten points more than Ellie Taylor in the leader board at the end of last night’s show but failed to win enough votes from the public to secure her place in the next round.
Both women were forced to dance again – and ultimately the judges chose to send the Ted Lasso actress, 38, packing.
But those watching at home were not impressed to see Fleur fighting for her place and took to Twitter to complain.
One person wrote: “Racist #strictly voting in full force tonight.”
A second tweeted: “How is Fleur in the dance off AGAIN ???? This is getting ridiculous. She is way better than Ellie . This reminds me of the hate that #AlexandraBurke had on a previous series #SCD #StrictlyComeDancing #SCD2022.”
And a third said: “Fleur this beautiful woman in the dance off again… this woman dances really well but hold on let me guess cz she is Black and most of people who vote are conservative and white 🥱 #Strictly #racism.”
Fleur, 35, performed the rumba to Too Lost In You by the Sugababes with her partner Vito Coppola, while Taylor took to the floor to perform the jive to Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison with her professional partner Johannes Radebe.
Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Fleur, saying: "Based purely on the technique alone I would like to save Fleur and Vito."

Motsi Mabuse agreed, and added: "First of all I would like to say that both couples performed really, really well, also for me the technical aspect was very important, so I'm going to save Fleur and Vito."
Anton Du Beke also chose to save East but praised Taylor for her efforts: "I'd just like to say congratulations to both couples for getting this far into the competition.
"Both danced marvellously. I thought Ellie danced a great performance in your jive. And Fleur I thought your technique was strong and your performance was powerful, and I'd like to save Fleur and Vito."
With three votes for Fleur it was confirmed Ellie would be heading home, but head judge Shirley Ballas did also confirm she would have chosen to save Fleur
She said: "Both couples danced exceptionally well but on this occasion, down to the technique qualities, I'd have saved Fleur and Vito."
