Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East has given fans an insight into the process of her dance routine on a Saturday night. The pop star turned radio host appeared on Morning Live to spill the beans on her Strictly experience so far.
The former X Factor contestant told Gethin Jones and Sara Cox she is kept in the dark about what she’ll wear right up until her routine.
Reflecting on her Jive to Waterloo by ABBA, complete with appropriate hairpieces of the Swedish pop giants, she said: “Honestly, we loved it.”
“There’s just so many highlights on this show so far. But for me, we don’t get to see our costumes until the morning of the show.
“So the wig was a surprise to me as much as it was for everyone else. I couldn’t stop laughing, it was priceless, honestly.”

Her professional partner Vito Coppolla concurred, and Morning Live’s Gethin told him how much joy he had watching them perform.
He said: “In the whole time I’ve been watching Strictly Come Dancing, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone enjoy a wig as much as you did.”
Vito replied: “You know what happened, the wig had a ‘his and her’ own personality.”
He continued: “It was like the mask, once I put on the wig, the wig was actually leading me!”
Fleur and Vito have been one of the more consistent dancing duos on the BBC show.
The couple scored a respectable 32 out of 40 points with the judges for their uplifting performance.
In week six’s spooky edition of the prime-time show, they will dance to the 2022 hit by Beyonce called Break My Soul.
They will take on the Salsa in this week’s Halloween version, which has become one of the showpiece’s most iconic weeks.
Despite their popularity among the judges and viewers, they did suffer a shocking moment early in their Strictly journey.
The pair were involved in a dance-off against Richie Anderson and Giovanni Pernice, who were voted off by judges.
Reflecting on that moment, she told Rylan on It Takes Two: “It was rough. In that dance-off, it was awful.
“One because obviously, you realise, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve got to dance again’, and with all those lifts, I was just relieved we got through it once.
“Secondly, I love Richie, I get on with Richie so well. He’s such a joy and I hated having to dance against him.
“But in a lot of ways, I’m actually grateful that we had that experience because it made me realise how much I want to be here.”
Fleur began the series as the joint favourite to win the competition alongside Helen Skelton.
She is now fancied at 33/1 by Bet365 to lift the Glitterball trophy at the end of the year.
Strictly Come Dancing airs at 6.50pm on Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
