SWAT promo teases arrival of A-list guest star in Hondo reunion
S.W.A.T. episode promo
The latest promo for SWAT season six has confirmed Hondo (played by Shemar Moore) will reunite with old pal Danny, who’s played by none other than Taye Diggs.
Famed for his roles in some of the USA’s biggest shows like Empire, Murder in the First and Private Practice, this marks the first time he’s stepped into the CBS drama.
However, their get-together isn’t for a catch-up or a chance to reminisce over good times, but rather to try to get to the bottom of the mystery of Danny’s missing daughter.
However, that isn’t all Hondo will have to compete with, as the new promo teases a string of armed break-ins that will also pique the team’s attention.
The trailer for episode 20, titled All That Glitters, opens with a series of split-second shots showing armed criminals bursting into homes and shooting their way out.
It then throws the focus onto Commander Bob Hicks (Patrick St Esprit) who tells Sergeant Deacon (Jay Harrington): “This is a third violent home invasion. All the victims are dead.”
As if this wasn’t ominous enough, fans’ first look at Diggs’ guest role doesn’t bode well either.
Hondo joins Danny in his home where he issues the harrowing warning: “Situations like this, they don’t end well.”
The promo stops short of revealing too much else but the synopsis has shed some light on what fans can also expect.
It reads: “Following a string of violent home robberies, the team rushes to stop a crew targeting elderly victims.
“Also, Hondo’s longtime friend and former Marine squad leader Danny Wright turns to Hondo for help when his daughter goes missing.”
But will Hondo be able to pull out all the stops to return Danny’s daughter home, or will it end in tragedy?
And could the string of home invasions be directly linked to Danny’s introduction and more sinister forces be at play when it comes to his daughter?

While Diggs’ arrival into the SWAT universe will undoubtedly be a welcome stint among viewers, it isn’t the only new role the All American star has lined up.
This week it was announced Diggs would be teaming up with former Empire co-star Keesha Sharp for a BET+ project.
The duo will take the lead on the network’s Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy later this year, based on Ron Stodghill’s book Redbone: Money, Malice and Murder in Atlanta.
Diggs will take on the lead role of Lance while Power Book II: Ghost star Sharp will play his ex-wife, Kathi Collins.
SWAT returns to CBS on Friday and airs Sundays on Sky Max and Sky Showcase in the UK.
