The Capture viewers have A LOT of complaints as BBC thriller returns for series 2 | The Sun
THE Capture made its highly anticipated return over the weekend for a second helping – but fans were left with unhappy with the new series.
The BBC crime drama, which sees young DCI Rachel Carey (played by Holliday Grainger) take on the world of digital intelligence and deepfake technology, returned on Sunday night.
In the first series viewers were shown they can't always believe what they see as former Special Forces member Shaun Emery is accused of murdering his barrister.
Shaun is charged with the barrister's manslaughter as CCTV evidence appears to put him in the frame.
However, DCI Carey quickly uncovers a complex conspiracy and starts to question whether the CCTV evidence is real or fake – and if Shaun was framed.

While the series received much fanfare when it debuted in 2019, viewers at home were not impressed as the series returned on Sunday night.
It opened as DCI Carey found herself trying to uncover yet another conspiracy, this time involving politician Issac Turner as a deepfake of him emerges.

Fans took to social media to share their unhappiness with the second series so far.
"Given up on #TheCapture Script is really corny and the acting terrible (probably because the script is really corny)," said one user.
Another said: "The BBC has found an innovative way to save on location costs by filming much of #TheCapture at… the BBC."
While a third added: "Something's lacking here. The first series was excellent. #TheCapture."
But not all viewers were in agreement, as some thought the new series compared well to the first.
"That was a great episode. Holliday Grainger is smashing it in this drama. #TheCapture," said one viewer.
Another said: "Season 2 of #TheCapture is marvellously gripping and plausibly terrifying."
The Capture continues this Sunday at 9pm on BBC One and available now on iPlayer.
