The Chase star Mark Labbett’s new girlfriend on how he ‘completely wooed’ her

Mark Labbet’s new girlfriend Hayley Palmer has revealed how he wooed her – in their first TV interview together.

The Chase legend, 57 first struck up a relationship with 41-year-old TV presenter Hayley a few months ago.

Despite originally keeping their relationship low-key, it seems things are going great for the loved-up pair – who have a 16-year-age gap.

So much so, that on Tuesday (June 27) the happy couple sat down for their first telly interview together on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch.

Appearing on the hit daytime show, Mark, who has undergone a major weight transformation, looked slimmer than ever in a smart suit and crisp white shirt.

While his new missus Hayley looked gorgeous in a short black dress with a plunging neckline and silver high heels.

“So tell me how you two met?” Host Steph McGovern asked the pair.

“Well we met at the National Television Awards, and yeah he actually tried to woo me with his Toby Carvery card Steph.”

She went on: “He said ‘I’ve got a Toby Carvery gold card’ and I was like, ‘Ok, that’s just going to completely woo me.”

Steph chimed in and told Mark: “That’s a good move that, I’m really impressed with that.”

“It’s something different, and let’s face it, I might be partial to the odd Sunday lunch.

“They’ve been looking after me for six years – it’s a wonderful thing to have.”

But much to Hayley’s shock, Mark is still yet to take her to the iconic carvery chain.

“I haven’t actually had my Toby carvery yet so we need to work on that,” she quipped.

The pair, who currently live apart, have just spent the past few weeks in Los Angeles while Mark was out there filming a new TV series.

Speaking about their trip across the pond Mark said: “LA was so nice. It’s nice we’ve had a bit of quality time together.

Hayley is a television presenter who hosts music shows At Home With Hayley and Saturday Night With Hayley Palmer.

Mark tied the knot with his second cousin Katie in 2014 and they have a son together, Lawrence, who is now four.

But the pair decided to call things quits in 2020, citing their 27-year age gap as the reason.

Also on Steph’s Packed Lunch, Mark detailed his major health change, revealing he’s “not quite sure” how he managed to shed 10 stone.

“Obviously, I'm a Type 2 diabetic, so leading on from the previous one, slightly different.

"Obviously, I have the drugs that I have to take every day but that's it. I've never had a diabetic episode."

He continued: "But I think I've lost some weight when I got hit by what was likely Covid.”

“When I got hit you had to be practically the Prime Minister to get a test back then…And the main thing, I'm just not hungry anymore!"
