The Night Agent will be arriving globally on Netflix on tomorrow (March 23). In the UK, the 10-part action series will be available from 7am GMT. The show is adapted from the Matthew Quirk novel of the same name, concentrating on a low-level FBI agent working in the basement of the White House.
Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso) is manning a phone which never usually rings until one fateful night.
He is then plunged into a dangerous conspiracy, which will be linked all the way back to the Oval Office.
A trailer for the drama dropped recently and gave more insight into the story.
The teaser sees the title character heroically saving a packed train of people on the New York subway and duly getting bumped up to working in the White House.
The agent finds himself enlisted to work on a top-secret programme called Night Action, which delves deep into big threats.
Peter is confronted with a home invasion situation and later learns two fellow FBI agents have been killed off with links back to the White House.
Peter is tasked with guarding a woman as he realises it’s not just his ward at risk but he too faces threats.
He uncovers a sinister assassination attempt with suspicion falling on him for suggesting such a thing.
In a race against time, Peter will be trying to get to the truth with potential traitors on all sides.
As audiences are taken on this rollercoaster ride with Peter, they will see the night agent put through his paces with high speed car chases and shootouts as he tries to survive and find out who is at the heart of the conspiracy.
The Night Agent was created by American screenwriter and producer Shaw Ryan, whose other projects have included Timeless, Mad Dogs, The Unit, S.W.A.T and The Shield.
