The One Show: Alex Jones make £4 increase dig at her BBC pay

The One Show has been put on pause for the royal celebrations as presenter Jermaine Jenas revealed the schedule shake-up at the end of Thursday’s show.

As the episode drew to a close, Alex Jones told fans they’d be back again on Tuesday (May 9) for a Eurovision special.

Next week, Alex and Ronan Keating will be presenting live from Liverpool ahead of the international competition’s first semi-final.

The two hosts will be joined by Graham Norton and Eurovision runner-up Sam Ryder for the special as Alex shared the show wanted to know people’s plans for the musical event.

Replaced The One Show on Friday evening will be HM The King’s Coronation: The Eve of the Coronation, an hour-long documentary fronted by Kirsty Young.

Viewers will see Kirsty joined by a series of guests who share their personal insights and stories of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Ahead of the coronation celebrations, the show will also see Sophie Raworth outside of Westminster Abbey, where the historic event will take place on Saturday.

It’ll also feature JJ Chalmers speaking to multiple members of the armed forces, who are preparing to take part in one of the biggest military parades in British living memory.

If people still want their royal TV fix, The One Show’s replacement will be followed by Sing for the King: The Search for the Coronation Choir.
