Three ITV Emmerdale theories: surprise paternity twist and villager runs away | The Sun

JAI Sharma is unforgiving with his father Rishi since he found out he was adopted.

But what if he could get to the truth through his cousin Suni? Get the lowdown on what you could expect this week in Emmerdale.

1. Shock DNA twist

Rishi Sharma was recently reunited with his nephew Suni who tries to comfort him as he faces conflict with his son Jai.

The Sharma patriarch played by Bhasker Patel was caught off guard when his son Jai (portrayed by Chris Bisson) confronted him with the discovery that he was adopted.

Rishi was forced to admit he had kept the truth from Jai for more than four decades with the help of his ex-wife Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).

Jai, who has recently become engaged to his long-term partner Laurel Thomas, was left furious that he was lied to for years and made it clear to Rishi their relationship would never be the same.

He found out that he was the result of an affair between his mother Georgia and an unknown man who left before he could even get to know Jai.

Rishi thus adopted Jai and raised him as his own but made sure he could never find out the truth.

This week on ITV, Rishi is awash with guilt while Manpreet reassures him that he's been a great father to Jai.

The village GP urges him to give his son the full story about his biological father.

Rishi finally agrees to try to reconcile with Jai, but he’s left devastated when his son blanks him.

The following day, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) convinces Jai to invite Rishi to their wedding and he gracelessly obliges, leaving his father buoyed.

Jai's cousin Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) rallies the troops for his stag do, hoping it will help further reunite father and son.

But could his efforts backfire on him?

Over on Twitter, many viewers of the Yorkshire-based program have theorised there's more to Suni – what if he was Jai's brother?

Fans have been eager to get the whole truth about Jai's biological father and speculated the mystery man could also be related to Suni.

"So Jai's birth father is Rishi's brother? That's the only way I can make sense out of Suni's involvement in all of this", one fan recently penned.

Another chimed in: "Who else thinks that Jai’s biological father is his cousin Suni’s dad?"

Could they be right?

2. Huge family feud

Viewers were shocked to find out Tracy Metcalfe (portrayed by Amy Walsh) was back in the eponymous village.

To top it all off, Tracy celebrated her return to the Dales with her daughter Frankie in tow by tying the knot with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

The pair had been preparing their nuptials in secret, taking Cain and Moira Dingle by surprise as they believed the hunk was trying to crash Tracy's wedding to another man.

But in returning to Emmerdale, Tracy is adamant on growing a business with a big career move as she's had big dreams of opening up her own nursery in the village.

However, this week, Tracy’s gutted to receive a loan rejection from the bank and she’s struggling to find any enthusiasm for her job at the B&B.

Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) clocks that she’s feeling low and bamboozles her into feeling more motivated.

The following day, Caleb Milligan’s (Will Ash) intrigued to overhear a conversation between Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Nate about Tracy’s struggles to find an investor for her nursery.

Finding her, Tracy’s left with food for thought when Caleb moots investing in her proposed nursery.

Unfortunately, Nate’s frustrated with Tracy when it looks like she’s tempted to go into business with Caleb as he knows it will infuriate his father Cain (Jeff Hordley).

Tracy accuses Nate of caring more for Cain’s feelings than the welfare of his family.

With the farm still struggling financially, Cain tells Moira (Natalie J Robb) it’s time for a tough choice; either Nate or Mack must be made redundant.

An unaware Nate is relieved when Tracy sees how involving Caleb in her nursery would cause conflict.

Yet things take a nasty turn when Moira announces that he and Mack are going to be put in a competitive interview process for the one remaining job at the farm.

A furious Tracy immediately makes a call to Caleb to take him up on his offer and Nate no longer has a leg to stand on.

Could Tracy cause a rift between Nate and Cain?

Will Cain take his anger out on Caleb once again?

3. Dales teen runs away

Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) spontaneously proposed to her long-term partner Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) in the Hide.

Unfortunately, the big news was soon overshadowed by family drama within the Sharma clan as Jai figured out he was adopted.

Despite this, the couple are adamant on getting their nuptials ready with Marshall Hamston (Max Fletcher) considered as part of the family.

The lad was taken in by Jai and Laurel after Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) developed feelings for him and it was discovered he was under the thumb of an abusive and homophobic father.

Marshall and Alfie have been living under the same roof with Jai and Laurel giving them ground rules to abide by as they realised the youngsters were romantically involved.

But in a shocking twist, Marshall calls it quits with Arthur, leaving him broken-hearted.

He then proceeds to thank Laurel for all she has done for him in recent months.

Viewers of the Yorkshire-based program will remember that Laurel reached out to Marshall herself and brought him out of his father's home, encouraging him to accept himself and his sexuality.

Marshall then gives Arthur an emotional last hug before turning away from the eponymous village with his aunt.

Laurel's heart breaks for Arthur as he sobs in her arms after losing his first love.

He doesn't get much support from his stepsister Gabby (Rosie Bentham) as the latter complains about her own life.

One viewer theorised that Arthur could run away from the village several weeks ago.

"Just thought: Marshall's sexuality is part of his life whereas Arthur's sexuality is non-stop chat. By Arthur! Marshall running away (or whatever) wouldn't surprise me", they penned.

And with Marshall gone, the lad could have more of a reason to move on himself.
